Scientists warn the Earth has 10 years left

What if you found out you had 10 years left to live? Life is short enough, but such a generalization (when it is oh-so-suddenly applied to oneself) is quite startling, not to mention frightening. But now scientists are predicting that not (just) us, but our world might be facing this grim reality. 

The Scoop  

As restated by EcoWatch, “According to the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, if humans don't reduce greenhouse gas emissions drastically and maintain carbon sinks, like forests, then the results will be catastrophic for the climate.”  
 
Of course, this isn’t old news. In my last article, the extremely precarious situation of our Earth's animals is explained and detailed by the immense amounts of global warming and greenhouse emissions being injected into the atmosphere by none other than us humans. While this recent news comes to us ordinary folk as a shock, scientists aren't surprised. Of course, there are studies and plans underway to help combat this "deadline" of sorts, and of course, to ultimately save our beloved planet!
