7 million drones in the U.S. by 2020

I'm surprised drones are this popular in the US. In my country, it's mostly used for aerial shots (news channels, Youtubers). Rarely do I see people use it for fun or as a toy.

I don't see this as popular at all! At the moment there are about 1M registered drones in US, all drones heavier than 8.8 ounces (250g) have to be registered and most people who are into drones have more than one. I, for example, currently have 3 at home.

I've checked available statistics and they're quite surprising: https://expandedramblings.com/index.php/drone-statistics/

What do you use your drones for? My brother bought one just to try it out and he ended up not having a lot of use for it so it's probably now in the garage or something.

@KnightsOfKitty - taking photos, making videos, racing, simple playing. Actually, since my last post I got one more small racing one lol When you think about it, it's not so strange to have more than one. If you take photos/videos, you will often need bigger and smaller one, and when you use it for playing or racing it's always more fun to have company so again you'll either need someone with  drone or have two drones. Btw drone racing is super fun
