Avoiding meat can help save the planet

Link: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/oct/10/huge-reduction-in-meat-eating-essential-to-avoid-climate-breakdown

Several studies support the idea that the way we consume food is crucial to reducing greenhouse gases and mitigate dangerous climate change. I think this is something we have to consider seriously because it's also starting to be evident that the way we eat now is also bad for us and our health. Too much food is also going to waste while so many people are still starving.

I am a firm believer that it's all about how we prepare, store and consume our resources. While they do have some points on the benefits of avoiding meat, I don't think that we are really targeting the main issue at hand here - waste.

I think we need to focus more on preserving the environment vs eliminating meat from our diet to save the planet. I agree that eating meat-free can help the environment but there are a lot of other factors into play tbh.

This is the first time for me to read that eating or not eating meat can help the environment. Very interesting.
