Scientists, bless their hearts, have made it a point of pride to make robots more and more like humans. I heartily agree with this approach yet I wonder when they'll get around to really approximating the flexibility and versatility of human motion. Now, some of our blessed scientists have made breakthroughs in the muscle department. They call it "soft robotics" and it's all about giving robots artificial muscles that are almost like the real thing. Of course, the true test of that would be: can they open your jars for you?
