Neutrinos get their turn at the altar of massively funded science projects

I've always been awed by the sheer immensity of some projects dedicated to science. The large hadron collider in CERN, for one, is impressive in scale *and* it accomplished some things it set out to do, most notably the recent finding and confirmation of the elusive Higgs boson.  Now that scientists are turning their massive resources to the study of neutrinos, I'm psyched about what we might discover about the universe right after the Big Bang.
