I'm not sure how I feel about this. I have GAD and MDD and it would be awesome if I won't have to worry about having anxiety attacks and episodes anymore. But a part of me is just isn't comfortable with the idea of having to resort to drugs or medication as a "magic cure."
The use of psychedelics to heal the mind has been practiced in some parts of the world for centuries. There have also been studies that claim that drugs, particularly mushrooms and LSD, can aid in "resetting" one's brain: https://www.bbc.com/news/health-41608984
I am an advocate of at least experimenting with these things and you all should too in my opinion.
^^ what John_wick said. Humans are using psychedelics as a cure for ages and there are quite a lot of books and researches about psychedelics due to current trends.
I don't think drugs are always the smartest solution. I am glad tho people are finally talking about alternatives to traditional treatments.
We as a race are slowly seeing the benefits of healing the mind. For years, mental health has always taken a back seat to more common diseases like cancer and diabetes. I think it's time for people to place equal value to mental health as ignoring it can have terrible effects on the well-being of everyone affected by it.
Look at countries like Korea and Japan, their suicide rates are absolutely alarming! a little intervention such as psychedelics could save many lives.
Yes, they may even cause a mild, barely noticeable disorder to expand into something fierce. Psychedelics are not for the faint of heart, or mind.
