Shrinking objects to the nanoscale

Link: https://www.sciencealert.com/mit-figured-out-a-way-to-shrink-objects-to-nanoscale

This is pretty cool and all but what could be the practical application of this? I'm sure there are but I can't think of any from the top of my head. It'd be cool if we can use it like shrink guns though. Well, as long as there's a way to -de-shrink them again. Lol.

There is a mention in the article that it can be used for robotics and optics. I think that the study can also help in reducing tumors and other related diseases, assuming they can get around the obvious issues of course.
