I've been seeing  a lot of these products lately and it's a surprise that most of them got past that meeting when someone raised these "great" ideas. There have been a lot of innovative products lately that really do add value and has great potential to be part of the smart homes of the future. There are also a lot though that are just usual gizmos whose only value is that it connects to the internet ergo, it's "great tech".

New innovations can be beneficial to a lot of people. While we cannot guarantee of it's eventual value, we can't deny that it gives people another option when making purchases.

There's a demand for it so it has it's value. Making life easier certainly is attractive to a lot of people, if these smart devices fill the demand, then I think it's not an issue at all.
