This month—May 2022—we are discussing the different content types supported on the Quantumrun Foresight Platform (QFP). These content types assist you, and your team collect your thoughts and outline your plans for possible futures.

In total, the QFP supports nine different content types, each with specific characteristics you and your team can use to make sense of the uncertainty that may lie before your organization and the industry it operates.

The nine different content types on the QFP are:

    • Signals — Each signal post is composed of an insightful link to news, insights, and data from external websites, journals, and databases that hint at one or more emerging trends. These posts are accessible to all platform users. The signal posts found on the homepage, trend signals page, and category pages are manually uploaded or moderated by Quantumrun staff.
    • Insights — Insight posts are short-form articles (300-500 words on average) discussing the novel and often multidisciplinary insights from the signal posts noted above. Access to this post type is restricted to paying platform subscribers.
    • Forecasts — Forecast posts are long-form articles (2,000 words on average) that discuss the often multidisciplinary macro insights from the insight posts noted above. Access to this post type is primarily restricted to paying platform subscribers; however, older forecasts may be released for general public access from time to time.
    • Scenarios — Scenario posts are long-form articles (2,000-3,000 words on average) that depict possible future scenarios inspired by the forecast posts noted above, with each scenario providing multidisciplinary insights. Access to this post type is restricted to paying platform subscribers; however, older forecasts may be released for general public access from time to time.
    • Forecast data pages — For years, one of the most popular parts of the Quantumrun.com website was the future timeline and country timeline pages that discussed detailed predictions spanning 2020 to 2050. These pages are updated annually and are accessible to all website visitors.
    • Lists — Lists are bookmarked collections that can contain any of the post types described above. These lists are created by Quantumrun staff, but platform users can also curate Lists. Platform users can set Lists to public or private based on the list owner’s preference. All registered platform users can create lists, and all users can view lists that have been set to ‘public.’
    • Videos and podcasts — Quantumrun Foresight’s multimedia team often recontextualizes the insights from the post types above into a video or audio format to appeal to users who prefer those mediums. Access to multimedia content is available to all platform users.
    • Sponsored content — In consultation with Quantumrun Foresight, organizations can sponsor the content of any type listed above. This content can be produced by Quantumrun staff or by the organization. Production and distribution of content are primarily to achieve specific promotional or research goals.
